Here at Dr. McHugh and Associates we pride ourselves on gentle foot care with a proficient staff that keeps wait times at a minimum.

What is podiatry?
Podiatry is a specialized field of medicine dedicated to the treatment of foot and ankle disorders. These disorders include but are not limited to: bunions, hammer toes, heel pain, flat feet, ingrown nails, warts, corns, calluses, diabetic foot care, and sports injuries.

Will my insurance cover my visit?
Our practice participates with most insurance carriers including: Medicare, Anthem
BC/BS and Bluecare plans, Cigna, United Healthcare, Healthnet, Aetna and Oxford. Most insurance carriers will cover your visit to a podiatrist and we will do our best to inform you of any financial responsibility. Some insurance companies will require you to obtain a specialist referral in order for you visit to be covered.

What if I need surgery?
All of our offices are equipped for surgery and if you should need or prefer to have surgery in a hospital setting our doctors are affiliated with Waterbury Hospital and Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut and Danbury Hospital in Danbury Connecticut. We will always do our best to accommodate your needs where possible.
